I have NOD32 AV 3.0.642.0 and intend to manually update to 3.0.657 (which I've already downloaded).

Should I first uninstall the older version of NOD32 3.x or can I simply install the new version of NOD32 3.x "over" my older version of 3.0 (i.e., using the same folder)?

If I need to uninstall my older version, is there a way to save my settings beforehand, so I wouldn't have to reconfigure?

I searched through the knowledgebase FAQ's using every keyword I could think of but couldn't find any addressing this issue. Thanks. Jaygo

This question is asked many times in this forum already and it should work fine with a upgrade so it's not required to uninstall first. I did a upgrade from .650 to .657 without any issues at all. Some people prefer to uninstall first though so some might recommend that approach even if not necessary.

When i went from 2.7 to 3.0 i did a uninstall first though since 3.0 is changed pretty much compared to 2.7.

If you want to uninstall first you have the option under "Setup" to export the settings and then you can import that file into .657 at the same place when .657 is installed. You have to use the "Advanced mode" to see the import/export options. You should see the option to toggle advanced unless you already use the advanced mode.
