Drivesnapshot (http://www.gmer.net/index.php) is a wonderful example of software that runs without any installation required.
Within Windows but also from a DOS floppy, just one single executable!
A true gem!
200297
Also: Media Player Classic 6.4 (http://sourceforge.net/projects/guliverkli/).
Anti rootkit: GMER (http://www.gmer.net/index.php).
Remote Control: Teamviewer (http://www.teamviewer.com/index.aspx). (not really favorite, but it doesn't require installation)
Bitdefender 8 (http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/) Online virus scanner. (does install activeX in browser)
Nirsoft MyUninstaller (http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/myuninst.html).
(I will add more later, stay tuned)

I have the feeling that the OP is asking for Windows applications that function without installation. No?

One site I forgot about is Nirsoft (http://www.nirsoft.net/). He produces many useful no-install software. For me Nirsoft and SysInternals run neck and neck in producing free, useful and usually no-install software.

According to eSafe at virustotal.com, uTorrent has a virus..

Just a false positive.

How can you be sure that it's a false positive? It's v1.7.7 from the utorrent web site.

And what makes you think uTorrent is "dirty"? Afaik uTorrent is clean so any detection is most likely a FP.
Second, eTrust only detected it as "suspicious" so its not definitive.

Just thought those in the forum may want to be aware of the results. If it turns out to be clean, and the detection was a false positive. Thats ok. Just thought some would want to know. I don't truly know why it was picked up by eSafe as a suspicious trojan/worm file.

God forbid everybody here starts posting about what they 'don't truly know'.
Back on topic: Any more honourable mentions?

Popcorn, my all-time favourite, was already mentioned. Another very cool one is ToDoList:
'A rare form of task management tool, one that allows you to repeatedly sub-divide your tasks into more manageable pieces whilst still presenting a clean and intuitive user experience.'
