I just noticed that the size of the Panda downloadable AV definitions file has been the same size for the last four days. After unzipping todays def file, the resulting PAV.SIG file shows: date modified 5/25/08 - time 11:10 am.

Does anybody know what the @#*$ is going on at/with Panda?

Thanks in advance.

I actualy dont know because i do not use it right now, but to tell you the truth i really miss that AV, i love their GUI and their functional, only if the AV would be less heavy.
So please keep us informed about tis issue.

I do not use Panda, but a link on their site implies the definitions were updated today (Virus Signature File).

They are heavy on the heuristics so they don't seem to update all that often. I used to get updates once every day or so. I have since moved to (check icon). Pearland Texas? I could throw a stone down 518 and almost hit your town.

Bunkhouse Buck:
Yes, the Panda website says that the defs have been updated, but the unzipped file still shows a mod-date of 5/25.

Mongol:
If my memory serves me right (ya, like that could really happen), you used to hail from Friendswood last year.

To all: thanks for your input.

That is what I thought. I doubt they would go that long without an update.

Current AV defintions status:

Via the following download link, file defintions date is still 5/25/08:
http://www.pandasecurity.com/homeusers/downloads/clients/

Via the following download link, file definitions are current (5/30/08):
http://acs.pandasoftware.com/member/pavsig/signatures.zip

Thanks to user bossoq for the //acs.... link; I never knew this link existed before his posting.

To Mongol: The Astros might be on their signature fade-out if their bats don't start coming alive soon.
