View Full Version : Checking NIC Card

I have a friend who cannot connect to the internet. It started after a storm. The NIC card shows ok in the device manager. Is there another way to check it????

Nic cards are really very inexpensive, it might be just as easy to borrow or purchase a new card and remove all doubt about the Nic card working. I believe that I would also check that the router and or modem is also functioning correctly. I would lean more towards it being a modem or router not working than the Network card. If the comp says the nic card is working, it more than likely is.

There is no router and the modem has been replaced.

Found that the ethernet connection is built onto the mother board. I installed a PCI card and now there is no problem.
