I have another problem that I have not seen a resolution too yet after reading about 100 different threads.

Using DD10 on many different systems, old and new, occasionally (every time on D830) when i try to do something the partitions on the disk suddenly have a red C on them and the free space then shows as 0 kb. The drive cannot be edited once this happens. Does anyone know why or how to fix it?

On older systems sometimes a reboot will clear it, if not i usually pull the drive out and try in another system. This happens every time on Dell Latitude D830 machines and other newer systems, making the program unusable on those systems. The only thing that does work is simply deleting and creating partitions in safe mode, everything else causes this lock.

Usually, the "red C" means DD detects something is "wrong" with the partition. It may have errors or be corrupt.

Have you tried running a chkdsk /r on the partition?

Is the Safe Mode version of DD not showing the "red C" and the Full and/or Windows version is?

This problem exists on D830's out of the box w/ Dell installed windows. It is also there if i format the drive and put nothing on it using DD, basically no matter which way I slice it, it seems to be a problem w/ the software.
