I want to scan my pc from Kaspersky Online Scanner, and i read that some days ago a update made so Kaspersky are not detecting anything for more then 12 hours, is this issue fixed?
If i do a onlinescan now will it detect if i have virus on my pc? or is the issue still there or is it complete fixed ?

Hi,

This issue never affected any released products. It was only a small update issue on the unreleased TR of v.2009. Kaspersky was always detecting and protecting it's customers.

Hello Ximi,
the only product that was affected by the non detecting malware was kis and kav 2009 which havent been released yet. all realeased versions such as 5,6,7 had no issues. and the online scanner wasnt affected eiether.

Product Info
You have Kaspersky Online Scanner version 5.0.98.0 installed. The current anti-virus database was released on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 and contains 791182 records.

It says i have the old version 5 and not ver 6, or 7 as you mention lodore.
Why does it not use the latest version7 as online scanner but ver5 ?
thanks for the help, now i know i can scan and everything is OK.

Hello Ximi,
version 7 is the current version for installing to your machine for realtime protection of your desktop. the online scanner version numbers are different. it has the lastest defs and since you downloaded it today then im sure that is the lastest version of the online scanner.

I Cancel it, since it toke forever just to scan some files they were on: C:\ab33desd.CAB some CAB files it toke long time on Vista 32-bit, so i just cancel it.
I dont like when a Online Scanner take age's just to scan my PC. :P

the reality is a online scanner or any scanner could have 6 month old defs, and not find anything. You just dont get infected as often as some want you to think. You dont, you dont. Plain and simple.
