Does any one know what rules to set for the following essential windows applications? say for any firewalls. what ports to open, udp or tcp or else, in- or out-going

svchost.exe
services.exe
System
explorer.exe
and any other built in windows applications that need access, I don't know what they are.

I am using jetico ver 1, and I feel very confused reading the post you gave me. I still don't know what ports to set.

expecially system. I have no idea what it wants to do. it sends and receives datagram, and has outbound connection. but I don't know which ports are safe for this thing.
