Some time ago I started a small thread called Information and document processing? (http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=195239) with the intention of developing a better way to organize my documents, of which I have thousands. Some interesting suggestions were made there.
Now I have come across an interesting new freeeware application Tobu (http://tobu.lightbird.net/#whyuse), a desktop-based note taking application that allows you to use multiple tags to categorize notes of all kinds.
