Not WUBI
Not exactly virtualised..ie not vmware or others..

http://www.andlinux.org/

I'm not sure whether this is the best of both or some sad hybrid, but definitely intriguing. Too bad it;s not ported to PCLOS or ...
Has been getting some press..mostly, .de, but a good little write up on Linux.com there:

Intriguing?
PS: see repeated warnings re 'beta' status.
See Linux.com comments re security.
I know this is not the only app to do this but maybe better realised than others so far.

Hello,

Not bad, although I don't think this is a good idea. For one, the user miss the real thrill of using Linux. Two, they don't understand how things work.

Personally, I think separate OSs should be separate - virtualized one on top of another or truly genuinely running in parallel. This allows users to better understand the networking + hardware aspects of running separate OSs.

For example, the thril of genuine installation.

Regardless, it's a cool concept and I'll definitely be testing it soon. Just too busy with LPIC-2 and writing the book. 400 pages so far...

I might have been slightly interested in this but they don't have a Gnome version. :(. Besides I agree with what someone said that people will never learn true Linux like this.

Later....
