configures update server

Here's my problem. I've tried to set up a update server on a network and it seems to be unsuccesfull. There's 2 options to do that right? The first 1 is to update from the server itself, the other one from the NOD itself. The second option went perfectly. So can anyone tells me whats the problem might be in the 1st option? I've read the manual over and over but still nothing..

Did you setup a mirror? If so, what did you set up?

I did that, but yet it won't work. Afterwards I see that there was a typing error. But its seems to work find now after retyping the update server name. Thank u
