i am using escan virus control edition . as escan updates daily with more 75 trojan definations every day but compare to anti trojan softwares like trojan hunter it updates in every two days with only 50 trojan defination defination so escan detects more trojans than trojan hunter ?

hey sandra,
i am also trialling escan which also claims to have the world's first time real time email scanner. now about your question that as escan updates more with more trojan definitions than trojan hunter ..whether it detects more trojan.... lemme say this
Trojan Hunter is a fully dedicated anti-trojan and that means it totally bases its research on trojans and nothing else unlike escan which also has to concentrate on viruses and other malwares. Trojan Hunter being an anti trojan do have some specific functions that (maybe are not present in any security software which comes in combo as AV+AT.
the point what i want to put up is.. there maybe more trojan updates but that doesnot mean there will be more trojan detection...

Melissa,

escan cannot compete with TDS, BOClean and KAV and TrojanHunter as for trojans/backdoors.

TDS as well as KAV update their database on a daily basis, and only for that reason would probably be more up to date then others.

I would recommend submitting undetected trojans/backdoors to the TrojanHunter developer, so they can be added to the next database update.

you can find escan here (http://www.mwti.net/antivirus/escan/escan_productsrange.asp)

aladdin??

eScan uses the world famous AVP engine from Kaspersky Lab (as implemented by G-Data Software).
