I've been trying to made a BartPe cd with the Acronis True Image 10 plugin. The cd works but it doesn't recognize my external WD MyBook drive. I know I should include the drivers when I'm building the cd but there were no drivers to come with this drive and I can't find any on their web site. I have two external drives. One is a Maxtor and the other is the WD MY Book. The Maxtor is recognized but the WD isn't. I've searched online and on this forum for a solution but haven't found anything. I also purchased and downloaded the Bart's PE Guide and the Acronis Ver. 10 plugin but none of this helped. Does anyone have any ideas as to what will make it recognize this drive? Thanks for your time.

BartPE isn't perfect about seeing some of the new USB drives. I think you are correct about there being no special driver for that drive. I assume you have the drive pluged in before you are booting the BartPE CD. The only thing you can try is have the drive unpluged at boot time and plug it in after boot.

You may find that VistaPE has better luck seeing this drive. You can make a VistaPE CD for free to see if it will work. Then you can add the TI VistaPE script if the CD can see your drive.

I'm sorry I failed to mention I'm using Windows XP Professional. Wouldn't I need the Vista disk to use the VistaPE or am I misunderstanding something? Thank you GroverH! I'll check into that thread. Maybe someone somewhere will have a solution. Thanks again to both of you!
