I have 2 new Maxtor 320gb drives. I have both DD Suite 10.0 and TI 11.0

I've tried repeatedly to format and clone to both of these new disks with no luck at all. I've read the forums and noticed quite a few similar issues. No results. I've run Seatools diagnostics and all disks are error free. I think the programs are providing false error reporting because these disks are new and both are having the same issues. Is there anyone else out there that has had the same issues and managed to resolve them? The errors are read errors when formatting and write errors when cloning. Any help is much appeciated. Too much $$ for two unusable programs. Both are the latest builds. Just purchased in April.

I've also used White Canyon's Wipdrive 3.0 to clear any and all activity from the disks prior my next attempt at formatting or cloning. Very time consuming to wait for the next opportunity to try something new.

I have also tried the Maxblast program that came with the drives, same issues. Maxblast is the identical program as TI 11.0 and is made by Acronis.

Running XP SP2.

Thanks

Have you tried a different cable between the motherboard and the new disks (SATA or IDE)? It maybe bad. How are you trying to format, via Windows or DD10? Are you using the recovery disc to clone or from within Windows?

What sort of computer are you using?

Are these USB drives? What USB chipset is on your motherboard?

Are you using the latest build of TI 11?
