Slow .run file scanning

I have noticed especially with .run files corresponding to the ati and nvidia linux display drivers that my NOD32 v2.7 takes EXTREMELY long to scan them, causing major problems with other applications and sometimes making the whole computer seem hung. I have also found this with one or two odd word documents which had really large attachments in them. Is this a known thing?

Open Control Center -> AMON
Press "Setup"
Go to "Extensions"
Uncheck "Scan all files"

Then a window like this will open
