Sometimes when the charging cable gets unplugged accidentally the screen goes black. What causes this and what can I do to fix it???

Its sounds like a battery issue, may be could be a voltage problem.

Check your power management scheme. It sounds like it is set to shut the monitor down if on battery and it goes below a certain power\charged level. Does it happen as soon as it becomes unplugged or after a short period of time of it being unplugged?

Agree with the above. Check your power management menu option selections. I had a laptop that had a charge circuit failure and my battery became completely discharged. If I pulled the cord, there was no backup power and the unit just shut off completely.

Its plugged in and fully charged. It happens sometimes even when its a bit unplugged. I ordered a new battery for my laptop off of Amazon for 50 bucks so I don't have to pay over 120 bucks for it from the Dell site.
