Had a problem with MailWasher when I just recently got around to trying it out - it wouldn't 'bounce' any emails I marked, even though I had it set up correctly.
Even though I hadn't yet 'donated' for the program, I gave emailing the author a shot and he replied today:
"The good news for you is that MailWasher does work and can bounce with
bellsouth's mail server. *Here's our form response to the problem:
------------------------------
If you have MailWasher 1.32.9 or later, the problem may be that the
return-path isn't set in the bounce messages. *Normally bounces, which
don't have a return-path, are only sent by mail servers - not by user
programs. * Some mail servers expect all mail coming in from user programs
to have a return-path. *The latest version - 1.33 beta (on the
www.mailwasher.net site now) can be set up to use the old bounce message if
necessary. *Download and install the 1.33 beta version, and double-click on
the attached file - set-return-path.reg. *Then answer 'yes' to import the
setting into the Windows Registry. *That should fix the bounce problem."
I've applied the provided 'patch' and I'll let y'all know if it works (just in case anyone else's been having the same problem). Pete
