Hi all,
A very odd one here. For some time now I noticed that occasionally I have found an additional Documents and settings folder. Just today I noticed two. I have performed many scans with antimalware apps. For instance SuperAntispyware, KAV7, A-Squared. I have done an online scan with F-Secure. This was as a precaution as I know malware can create 'lookalikes'. But nothing has ever been found. These folders only contain my profile name and navigating through the folder leads to the Temporary Internet Files of which there is only the customary Index.dat file at 16k. I can delete the folders no problem and they go to the recycle bin as nothing more than 64k in size. I think something is creating these random names when there is some kind of crash or Dr Watson issue, but I've yet to see a pattern. Just wanted to run it by you peeps to see if you have ever seen this before. The two files I found today located in C:\ are:
1. Documents and Sgttings
2. Documenvs and Sgttings
My resident security apps are as follows:
Ad Muncher
Browser Sentinel
Defensewall
Sandboxie
I've done a Google and found nothing. As I'm of medium paranoia I thought I'd share this with you in case someone thinks I should 'PRESS' the panic button. I'm calm, but in the back of my mind there's a niggle...
