Question from someone using Disk Director infrequently, and not using multi-boot:
Does anyone know if the oss_reinstall.exe startup is really needed, or if any ill-effects will result from disabling it?
Please, no well-intentioned replies telling me only that it doesn't use much by way of resources. Neither do most individual startups that find their way onto my PC, but the cumulative effect is noticeable both in resources usage and in slowed down boot-up time.
And while True Image is a worse offender than Disk Director, having both installed adds six startups (including auto-starting services). That makes Acronis second only to Windows itself in number of startups at each boot.
