For memory, the G.SKILL F2-6400PHU2-2GBHZ (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231065) or Mushkin 996523 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820146108) are good. They have Micron D9 chips :thumb:

As for the video card, I think the 8800GT should be fine for your resolution.

Those are expensive as hell! There is much cheaper memorys with same chips and even better PCB.

Transcend PC2-6400 aXeRam 2GB Kit
800MHz, 4-4-4-12
Micronin D9GMH & Brainpower B62URCE
45,00€ (in Finland)

Normally I bought all computer parts in Germany but these memorys are cheaper here.

The OP linked to the Corsair TWIN2X2048-8888C4DF. I assumed (maybe poorly?) that money wasnt a problem.

Price isn't everything. Those Transcend memorys are better than those expensives.

If money is a consideration then consider EVGA e-GeForce 9600 GT SSC Edition. This is an great card for the money and will drive your games......speaking of which, are you SURE you want to spend all that money on Assassin's (G)Creed :-\

Every hardware forum i visited over the last 3 months i have seen a number of users reporting there Crucial Ballistix, different models, has not worked or has died weeks or months after buying, on different motherboards. I came across this post.

I'm just trying to say that those Transcend memorys are totally same or even better than OCZ, Crucial etc. All depends what chips and pcb manufacturer use.

GTA4 Is not being released on PC on the 29th april. Only xbox and ps3, however possibly ( hopefully ) later this year or early next year.

2GB Corsair Dominator PC6400
Any 8800 card. I would recommend the 8800gts. The same GPU as the gtx but less expensive with OC room (if you do that sort of thing :) )

I would consider the speed of your CPU and motherboard chipset to balance out performance. A dual core of 2.6 Ghz or better is very good for high end games. Most modern computers will use DDR2 memory even though some will also use DDR3 memory (a lot more expensive but not a lot more performance.)

You might want to checkout ArsTechnica's "hotrod" box.
