Okay, so, I've never had trouble with NOD32 before, and I started my computer today to find the icon in the taskbar red, and all sorts of frustrating things popping up. Windows informs me that my antivirus system is turned off. When I enter into NOD, the only segment that's turned off is AMON. The little checkbox to enable it is gray and won't let me select anything, and attempts to run various systems result in these messages:

"Unable to load file system monitor"
"The file NOD32.0000 is damaged"
"Error connecting to server u4.eset.com"
"Update attempt failed (server connection failure)"

Sooo, being a person with limited knowledge of NOD, please help! I did system restore, and I'm in the process of defragging... but from what it looks like, the main advice is to try uninstalling and reinstalling?

If this is in the wrong section, sorry! <3

I'd deinstall NOD completely, so also remove all remaining folders manually.
Then do a complete reinstall and see if that helps.

In safe mode scanner is working fine, no signs of errors, so it must be a virus. I got it a few days ago. :dry:

@Byakko

From what you describe I would say you are using fixed/pirated version of ESET NOD32

Hello,

The v2.5 release of the software is no longer available.

Download the v2.70.39 version of NOD32 using your licensed username and password from ESET's web site here (http://www.eset.com/download/business.php), then uninstall the old v2.5 version of the software, reboot, and install the new version you just downloaded. You should then be up and running.
