View Full Version : unable to partition unallocated space in vista

I have a Dell xps 1530 with Vista home. The hd is 200 Gb with 50 Gb of data. I reduced the size of partition C by 20 GB to become unallocated space. The only options when unallocated space in manual mode is highlighted is to partition which DD10 gives error '"cannot do this" and restore. I cannot retrieve this space in any form. Help would be appreciated. Gene V

Can you post a screenshot of what DD shows in Manual Mode?

I'm not sure if this is your problem, but if you already have four Primary partitions on the drive, you won't be able to create another one.
