On my XP SP2 actually running Acronis TI 8.0 (768).
If decide to change TI 8.0 with TI 10.0 please let me know :
- may I install TI 10.0 over TI 8.0 ( without uninstalling TI 8.0 before )
- backups created with TI 8.0 and stored in D:\ partition as MyBackup.tib can be restored with new installed TI 10.0, or not
- in case of PC crash is it possible to use bootable floppy created for TI 8.0 or I must create a new bootable rescue media for TI 10.0
- what are advantages of TI 10.0 v TI 8.0

You will likely experience less grief if you uninstall TI8 first. However, if you do this and later wish to put it back, make sure you have your required serial number(s) available. If it was an upgrade from an earlier version you will need that versions serial number as well.
Acronis has posted that they guarantee one version back compatibility but the actual experience seems to be much better than that. There don't seem to be any complaints about not being able to restore an archive made with an earlier version with a later version due to file compatibility problems.
You must create a rescue media for TI10. This should always be done even for upgrades to a newer build within the same version. In the TI8 vs TI10 case, the archive file format was changed during TI9 so TI8 rescue media will not be able to understand a TI10 archive.
Lots of changes in features from TI8 to TI10 although you may not really want some of them. IIRC:
support for newer hardware
Files and Folders backup
Restore MBR with a partition image, not just whole disk
Email backup
Improved internal engine (they say)
...
You are in a good position to try TI10 since you can always revert to an old TI8 image if it doesn't work to your satisfaction.

Sorry to hijack the thread :P.
Seekforever, if I understand correctly, it means I can't restore an image (only an image of C:\, the drive is partitioned to C D and E) created by TI8 to another harddisk?

No, you can restore individual partitions. However, if you want to restore the MBR with TI8 it can only be done by restoring the entire HD if I remember correctly. TI9 was the first version that allowed restoring the MBR separately and backed it up when imaging a single partition instead of the whole drive.
