Hi all
What hardening apps (xpsec, seconfigxp, safexp, etc...) would you recomend and which ones are not reccomendable?
I need basicaly closing as much security holes as I can, for a person who doesn't even know how to update an AV.

Yes, I use all that are listed and I've never had any issues.

I use Harden-It, Secure-It, Seconfig XP and Security & Privacy Complete. Not sure if those two first are really needed.

I recommend The Computer Security Tool v4 0 0 57 which can create backups and restore points before you make any changes. Only point to note is that it isnt developed anymore but I run XP SP2 and it still works fine with that.

I´m personally using tweaks from: BugOff, SafeXP, Security & Privacy and 1st Security Agent (no I didn´t buy it). I´m also using some tweaks from Secure-It, especially the "DropMyRights" context menu entry is very handy. I´m not sure if I need Seconfig and I also stayed away from Harden-It.

I like Harden-It,Secure-It and SafeXP,however my favourite has to be Samurai which is a combination of hardening with anti-rootkit protection.
