View Full Version : NOD32 stops Daemon Tools uninstall program

I am using Daemon Tools 4.12.2
When I tried to uninstall it in order to install their new version (4.12.2), NOD32 AV (v2.70.39) intercepted saying that something contains some Advertizing element which was taken to Quarantine. I found nothing in the quarantine.

I tried installing the new version of DT over the old, but the same thing happened because DT uninstalls the previous version by itself.

There was no message from NOD32 when I installed the current version of DT, so I wonder why it is complaining when I am trying to uninstal?

Is it some kind of false positive?
How do you suggest I go about uninstalling DT?

Thanks for your feedback

Hello!

It is not a false positive .

In order to uninstall DT , disconnect from internet , open NOD32's Control Center , goto AMON and uncheck "File system monitor (AMON) enabled" .

This will temporary disable NOD32's real-time protection and the icon will go red.

Uninstall DT and reboot.

After reboot , it is important to open NOD32 Control Center -> AMON and place a check so that you re-enable AMON . The icon should become green/white back again .

Perform full scan to ensure you are clean and have a nice day! :thumb:
