I just picked up a new Brother multifuncion and can connect it either via parallel or USB. I gather USB is the faster connection, but I'm running out of USB ports and would prefer to use parallel. I'm wondering if the speed difference would even be noticeable in typical home setup (modest size print jobs). Anyone have any thoughts?

I would use parallel just to conserve USB ports. For me, the speed would be irrelevant compared to the actual printing time. I also think Parallel ports are generally more reliable....but that is just a feeling. I have never had a parallel port go bad, but I have USBs lose their connections frequently. They just liook flimsy too.
