Hello,
Just a quick question:
How much would you be interested if I wrote about these?
I'm sort of considering writing about linux security measures ... for networks and such ... Any ideas?

Personally I'm really into SELinux (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Selinux), though it would be wise to include AppArmor (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apparmor) too, since it's easier to use and getting more and more mainstream (with openSUSE and Ubuntu as main operators).

Mrk, besides SELinux, you should write about grsecurity!
I would love to read on both.
I have tons of bookmarks, but only 1 life :P
From what i gathered, these are perhaps the better? One more usable (grsecurity) the other more omg'ish?

Perhaps you could start from introducing to the topic, then all of the most relevant, like who hooks to what an why. What's RBAC and DAC and MAC and <insert complex name here> etc.

Yeah. I used to run a hardened kernel (same one my web server runs), would be great if you cover grsec as well, a topic I only know a little about.

Thanks for the comments.

I've been pondering an intro book on linux for quite a while. Mind it, it won't be ready any time tomorrow. It'll prolly take a year. But it would combine all aspects of the system, intros, guides, screenshots of actual actions and such, links to repositories, manual etc.

Sort of my own perception of would be all-in-one-place material for a handy small network administration, from basic stuff to apache, ldap etc...

It won't be easy or short, but I think it would be worth it...
