Hello,

I've written a short review of Pendrivelinux solutions, including native boot and emulation, featuring Damn Small Linux, Puppy, Debian, and Ubuntu.

PendriveLinux allows you to run Linux from a USB stick, even inside Windows as a QEMU emulation. This means you can enjoy the portability, flexibility and security of Linux just about on any computer.

Comments and suggestions are appreciated.

Cheers,

Well done Mrk! BTW, do you know how to get java to work in Firefox on an Ubuntu 7.10 setup :) It's driving me nuts trying to get it to work, in spite of several java packages installed through Synaptic :gack: Even IcedTea does not help.

Hello,

Try this:
sudo apt-get install sun-java6-jre sun-java6-plugin sun-java6-fonts

After installation, test to see if it has successfully installed:
java -version

In Firefox, check under about:plugins

It is working now. I had to Google for some help, ran a whole bunch of terminal commands, now finally it's resolved. Phew, that was mentally taxing :ouch:

The StartLinux.exe link provided in
http://www.dedoimedo.com/computers/pendrivelinux.html takes me to: http://www.pendrivelinux.com/pend.html but I can't find the direct download that Mrkvonic speaks of.

Can someone point it out to me please?

I tried it on Windows and in Linux with 4 different browsers and got the same result, no d/l.
