Another good reason to keep scanning for applications updates manually...
I updated just a few days ago and already a security update...

I use secunia PSI works good, It found things I missed or forget about.I do try to keep up with all my apps but simply to easy to forget about the ones not used often.

Hello djohn,
Yep I love this tool too... very powerful and it certainly help to speedup when doing system vulnerability assessments.
However don't forget to untick the enable hard to fix vulnerabilities to allow all vulnerabilities to be displayed... As the selection is ticked by default, only displaying those it considers easy to fix which on some system is quite a few important vulnerabilities turn up to be omitted thus providing a false sense of safety.
