Did NOD32 v3 miss something?

When I clicked on a new email subject in my online Yahoo mail inbox, my computer immediately shut down and re-booted itself before I even saw any email content. Was this just a random thing or was this some malware doing something to my computer before NOD32 v3 even had a chance to do anything. Nothing was downloaded and no attachments were opened. I just clicked on the email that I was going to open. My browser is Firefox. I subsequently ran a NOD32av scan and also scanned with Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool and with AdAware. These did not find any malware. I trust NOD32 but this seems to bizarre to ignore. I do not know what else to try or look for.

Try a scan with the Free version of SUPERAntiSpyware, You never no.

Please send a zipped log from ESET SysInspector (http://download.eset.com/download/sysinspector/32/ENU/SysInspector.exe) to support[at]eset.com with this thread's url enclosed. You don't need to install 3rd party software, ESI can reveal any infection if it's actually there.

Right, the final version will be able to detect rootkits, including the recent Mebroot that was not detected by probably the most famous rootkit detector last week.

v3.0.642 is final and anti-rootkit's protection added in v3 since it release
must be firefox causing BSOD not a malware or rootkit's
pls open yahoo mail in IEv6,7,8beta1 or opera and tell us result

Hello : the fact that your PC instantaneously reboot without any explaination sounds like video card driver need to be updated !

Maybe the first thing to do should be to uncheck -automatically reboot- after criticous error (instead of immediately reboot, your PC will stop on a beautifull BSOD that could give you information on driver responsible of the problem...)

If video card driver is the problem, then just download the last video driver and you should not have any more problems with NOD32 and yahoo mail...

What are you talking about? SysInspector and Antistealth are different tools. ::)

It might be a good idea to give the 64 bit and 32 bit versions descriptive names, like maybe SysInspector32.exe. That way they don't overwrite each other when downloaded.

Zlob has got every day tons of new variants. Look, when I go to site with him, I download one variant and you download different variant. I tested it in time about September. Yesterday I detected his new "friend". The best protection before Zlob and similar threats with this spreading is don't "install ActiveX codec" for watching movie. ;D

every antivirus is not perfect
if you not use eset AV why you making these word's:thumbd:
on this forum we like eset and we stick with it

Thanks for this comment. It does make some sense as this was a strange behavior to have been caused by clicking on an email. BTW I have used SysInspector as recommended and submitted some files to virustotal.com. Nothing in the form of malware was found.
