Trouble with booting WinMe

i really need help with this topic im bit of a noob,

iv downloaded all sorts of bootdisks and end up being stuck at dos prompt

i also tried ultimate bootdisk tried all functions with that and still couldnt start windows, is it something i did or what! im so frustrated at the moment ive tried all weekend to get back on WinMe but stuck wit my sisters 98 OS

I hate to say it, but update.

Windows ME was considered a disaster. (The fact that anyone is running it 7 years later is someones testament to dedication and masochism.

Not to mention Windows 98 and ME both reached End of Life nearly two years ago.

I loved Windows 98 SE. I fought XP, but the time has come...

And no, don't get Vista. I doubt your hardware would even be able to boot the install disk..

Btw, with ME, the fact your at a DOS prompt means you are IN windows. ME didn't run on DOS like 98SE and earlier did.
