Ran across this article on MS TechNet and saw mention of it at broadband reports. Even though much of it is common sense, it's still useful (especially, when it seems at times, that common sense is lacking).

And it´s because of Law 1 and 2 that I became fascinated by HIPS and stuff. We all know that relying only on scanners just isn´t good enough. :)
