IE shells - Secure or not?

No matter what shell you put on IE it is still IE with all of it's security problems. ;)

I think you are right. Anyone who thinks he can use IE or any of it's variant as their main browser, and think they are safe should forget about trying to install firewalls, antivirues, antitrojans etc.

Why borther triple-locking the front door and guarding it with a dozen bodyguards armed to the teeth, when the backdoor is unguarded?

Note some of the very serious ones allow remote excutation of files!!

Why do hackers borther with putting trojans into mydoom, when they can force ie users to remotely run any executable, is beyond me.

You're wrong!

Sometimes, the bugs in IE are already fixed in MyIE2, and some site that crash IE doesn't crach MyIE2...

Just an example... ;)

I was just commenting in another forum how much I like NetCaptor, but was considering switching because of security issues with IE Shells. Glad I stopped by here tonight. But I really liked the tabbed windows.... :'(

Your opinion may be that myIE2 is as secure as opera or mozilla. But the fact is The shell doesn't change the core of IE and that is where the trouble lies.It is still open to all of the security problems of IE. I have avant on my comp along with opera (MY DEFAULT) and firefox and I still don't trust IE and so I don't use it.

No, I don't think that MyIE2 is as secure as Opera or Mozilla. I'm only saying that MyIE2 is "more" secure and stable that IE.

I prefer the Gecko engine, but MyIE2 give me a lot of features...

I already maded a tests and MyIE2 doesn't crash and IE crash...

It's only my opinion... ;)
