{QUOTE-> The Trend Micro blog reported on March 11 that the web site of Swedish rock band The Hives had been contaminated with a malicious iframe that installed a dropper trojan via a JavaScript link. The following day the vendor discovered that it had fallen victim to a similar attack itself. <-QUOTE}Story (http://www.heise-online.co.uk/security/Trend-Micro-s-web-site-infected--/news/110319)

How can they protect their customers if they can't even keep their own site safe?

TRUE...
But no big news really, some other embarrassing website infections have gone un-reported, some security websites/forums have even been ‘deleted’ or penetrated.
It is a WEBSITE and that cannot be used to judge Trendmicro Security Software. It must concern us that even Military websites are defaced, hacked or infected.
It is no excuse but IMHO there is no need to mock Trendmicro for such a thing. :o

Actually the site that was hacked was limited to that of Japan. The bad thing was that this went on for a number of days (march 9-12) before it was detected.
And they really should be mocked for serving up viral infections to the public. This was the SQL injection attack which Finjan (among some others) has been warning about for months.

A topical post in that we just had a thread about malicious Iframes.

Seems media are over hyping this news again. No users got infected. In fact maybe other sites get hacked every day, if users don't notice and a company shuts it's mouth about it nobody will every know....
