Anybody get an error message today every time when trying to download the latest definitions that says "Warning there was an error downloading the files."?

Yes ! >:(

Probably somehow related to the VIPRE beta issue.

Did anyone see a .pl URL with a strange offer when trying to go to Sunbelt's website ?

(Counterspy for free, if ...)

It may be a scam, it could be related.

Folks:

We did have a configuration issue with one of our update servers last night. Those problems should be resolved at this point.

* If you are running CounterSpy 2.1 or 2.5 and are having definition update problems, I would recommend forcing a full update (File >> Download Full Definition).

* If you are running the VIPRE 3 beta and are having update problems, please post to our beta forums:

My problem has been solved (at least for the time being!).

Sunbelt suggested that I delete the temporary internet files prior to doing 'the' update.

Maybe that will be helpful.

If that doesn't work you can contact Sunbelt, they had a solution for me that worked.

It downloaded 756 to 757 and then 757 to 758 and then tried to download them all right from zero until I shut down and then restarted CounterSpy via the system tray Icon. Then I ended up with the latest update after the restart. ???

The problem with downloading updates has resurfaced, at least for me. Shut down and restart worked again.

I'm still fine.

Try downloading the update manually at:

http://www.sunbelt-software.com/dev/downloads/SBTEDef_idx.zip

and apply the update.
