Hello.

I'm using a french version of Acronis called "PC Cloneur" v. 8.0 (Build 774).
Yesterday, there was a Power outage while my system was running... when i turned on my computer, the HDD was out...
So, i formated it completely and it seemed to work well.
Fortunetely, i often do backs up with "Pc Cloneur". So i tried to reinstal the system with it but it seems impossible ! When i boot on the boot Cd that i made, i can't reach the HDD target (the back up is located on an external HDD)... Pc cloneur send me to the external HDD : i don't want to make a back up on the external HDD but on the intern one !
So, i began to reinstall Windows XP SP2 with the orignal CD. Now, it is completely updated... but the pb is the same !!!
I don't know what to do... At the moment, PC cloneur is cheking up "the integrity" of the back up... i'm not sure that is useful ??
Does anybody get a solution ?
Thanx.

Version 8 had almost no support for SATA controllers or RAID controllers when booted from the Recovery CD. Therefore, you couldn't see those drives. You could only see the USB external drive on those systems.

The practical solution is to upgrade to a newer version of the program. Version 10 may work or you may need version 11. If at least one of your hard drives is a Seagate or Maxtor drive, the Seagate DiscWizard may solve your problem. You can download it here. There is a French version listed.

You will need to install the DiscWizard which is really a lite version of True Image 10. After it is installed, you can make the Recovery CD.

Let us know how things go.

Bon chance!

yes, i've got 4 internals HDD. All are partionned in 2 or 3...and there are all SATA. No RAID.
I've finally succeded to transfer the back up on the partition B of my External HDD (The original Back up is located on partition A of this HDD)... Don't ask me how i made it :-\
So well : I wonder if it would be possible to make "a ghost" (you know what i mean ???) of this partition on my SATA internal HDD (where is located the OS of the computer) (I've got a second computer available)
