Hi all...
I wonder if the difference between a 2.4GHz, 800MHz 3MB L2; and a 2.6 GHz, 800MHz 6MB L2 is noticeable enough to make it worth. Both are C2D.

The difference would probably only be noticable in benchmarks.
Also you can just overclock the slower processor to make up for the difference.

6 MB L2 will not make difference?

Intel is already coming out with 6MB L2?????
Is L1 cache useless or something cause i notice AMD puts more into their L1.

-{ Quote: "6 MB L2 will not make difference?" }-It will for an application like ZIP/WinRAR/7-Zip (at least that's what the benchmarks show), but for most other apps you probably won't see much of a difference. Video and Audio compression encoding is more dependent on clock speed.

They have different design goals.
The only "fair" comparation between AMD's cache and Intel's cache is in the amount of L2 cache. As a general rule, AMD needs less L2 cache thanks to the integrated memory controller.

the smaller the cache the better the overclock, less stress. thats why 6400 overclock better than 6600.
