I have nod 32 in Vista 64bit, fully updated to SP1 RTM with the following components:

Virus signature database: 2870 (20080212)
Update module: 1022 (20080208)
Antivirus and antispyware scanner module: 1105 (20080207)
Advanced heuristics module: 1070 (20080212)
Archive support module: 1071 (20080117)
Cleaner module: 1024 (20071217)

When I choose "restore previous file versions" from the system restore shadow copy it to the desktop or just simple restore it freezes my whole system. I was trying to figure out the issue and disabled NOD32 to see if that was the issue. Once I disabled my file versions restored in an instant!

Can you NOD32 guys do something to stop the freezing when I do this?

Hello Recall,

Please try this. Go into the "Advanced setup" > Antivirus and antispyware > Real-time file system protection > Setup.

In this window click the top "Default" button. The Real-time scan will now only scan the default set of extensions.

After doing this try the "Restore" function again and let us know the results if you would.

Thank you,
BFG

Hi, I tried what you suggested and alas it did not work. It still hangs when restoring the folder. Any ideas?

1.what EAV version you are using?
2.do you enable advanced heuristics on realtime protection?

Latest ESET 3.0.621.0 and it does not matter if AH is enabled or not.

I've been having this problem as well. It has happened through every version since vista was released. I just tried it out with 3.0.650.0 and the same thing. This problem happens on a brand new unmodified vista install and on x86 or x64.

Does it happen also if you disable advanced heuristics and runtime packers on create in the real-time file protection setup?
