It seems to be good. Especially for the price.
But does it fit as some sort of security measure or does it really just make connecting to most of the web faster?

It has some antiphishing capability and you can also use it as a parental filter.

WSFuser is right, you need to create an account then (free) and fill in your IP. There is a solution available if you have a dynamic IP.
