good mornning all,
Just wonder IF there is a way or would it make computer safer?
So you can understand,I have DSL & have been using a 5100b router,for last 8 yrs.to make connection to internet.ok?
last week recieved/bought a router (because of built in firewall) was told more protection then running just a software (zone alarm) firewall.
asked on another site, but COULD NOT GET anyone to tell me/explain how to hook everything up.
what I orignally wanted to do was
from the back of the computer,(yellow/ethernet cord) to modem,then connection from modem to router.to internet, UNDERSTAND
or from the wall through telephone line to router,to modem to computer

need detailed HOW TO HOOK UP
Questions; I don't know the answers or gow to are
since there is ONLY one ethernet connection & 1 phone line connection in the back of the modem,
would i need a ??filter from back of modem that would be able to have 2 phone lines into it, (1 from wall to modem,1 from modem into back of router)
from the back of the computer
would the yellow/ethernet cord plug into the back of the modem? or the router
IF the modem,
how or would i need to run a ethernet cord from from modem to router,
if yes, how can this be done,since modem ONLY has one connection for ethernet cord.
this is what I could not get any answers to AS TO HOW TO SET UP.
