View Full Version : Invisible scheduled task

Hi,
I am trying to use TI11 after using TI10 without any problem.
I have created a scheduled task with an incremental backup. The script is stored in "c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts\43F8FD88-5E64-4232-85CF-156B9D3ABEA2.tib.tis" but is hidden in the task manager screen. The message is "No item to display", even after "refresh", but the startup screen of TI11 says that a backup task is scheduled!
I have scheduled a backup, just some files, to be manually started later. This one is visible in the task manager screen.
If I schedule a new full backup, it is also invisible.
All scripts are stored in the same subdirectory with the same type of file.
By the same, if the tasks are invisible, it is impossible to modify anything or delete a task from the Task Manager.
Any solution?

There is also a registry entry or two involved. Have you tried deleting the task file and creating a new task? If it's jsut this one task file that's a prob, I'd chalk it off to "weird sh-- happens with windows" now and then.

I am also seeing this behavior. If I set up a task and then close the application or get out off the Task Scheduling screen and go back all the tasks are gone. I can right click and choose refresh and 90% of the time they show up again. I have experienced where I will refresh and then click on the task and it disappears again.
It's a very annoying problem.
I have deleted all tasks and recreated them 4 times with no change in behavior.

Deleting the task from its subdirectory and recreate it with the task manager doesn't change anything. Always hidden.
My next operation to do is unistall the software and delete manually all entries from the registry, if somes remain. Then install once more TI11 to see.

To get access to updates you should first register (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/registration/) your software.
If updating doesn't solve the problem, please do the following:
- Download and run schedmgr.exe (http://www.acronis.com/files/support/schedmgr.exe) application;
- Issue the following commands:
task zap
service stop
service uninstall
- Close schedmgr;
- Replace schedhlp.exe and schedul2.exe files in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Acronis\Schedule2 folder with the files from this ZIP archive (http://download.acronis.com/support/scheduler.zip).
- Run schedmgr application once again;
- Issue the following commands:
service install
service start
- Close schedmgr;
If the problem still persists then please do the following:
- Open the command prompt (Start -> Run -> cmd);
- Run the following command in the folder the schedmgr.exe file was saved to:
schedmgr get report > schedreport.txt
- Collect schedreport.txt
Please create Windows System Information as it is described in Acronis Help Post (http://wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=55317).
Please also create a screenshot of the task manager screen.
