Hi Martbd,
Please check your rule for NOD. It should be like this:
Personal Firewall > Program Control > nod32krn.exe > Modify > Manually configure Internet Access > Modify
Action - Permit
Connections to other computers
Any computer (can be restricted to listed servers)
Protocol TCP
Type - remote port 80 (HTTP) (can add local port range 1024-5000)
Tracking - leave blank
Description - NOD32 Live Update HTTP

Is NOD32 blocking the internet, or is your Vista blocking NOD32? There seems to be a lot of rules regarding getting out with the new Vista, and it would seem benifical to post possible problems / fixes with Vista and NOD32. My fix is to upgrade to Windows XP Pro and get the new service pac 3 when it's RTM. :)

I run NOD32 on multiple Vista systems, and I haven't had to make any odd-ball configuration changes to have it work as expected.
Vista chickens are hilarious, they're the same bunch I used to call "XP chickens", and "NT chickens" before that. ;) Why not "upgrade" to Windows 2000 SP4? Or just go back to DOS 6.22, it ran perfect right? :)

I found a fix,
Step 1
Remove any program that protects the Windows registry from changes being made to it,
Step 2
Remove Eset Nod32
Step 3
After the computer has rebooted reinstall NOD32
Step 4
Reinstall your registry protection software
The internet now works like a dream ;D ;D
