Why I can't install NOD32?

Hello everybody, I'm from Italy and download the trial version of NOD32 (2.7 in Italy). I unistall completely my previous Av to test NOD32 but on the last window of the setup routine the installation freeze (I hear the 'dong' sound when I try to click on any button of the setup interface) and I must kill it in the Task Manager then my PC works normally. So I read in this forum this instruction:

"Please go to a command prompt by doing the following:

• Click on Start
• Click on All Programs
• Click on Accessories
• Click on Command Prompt.
• Type "C:\Program Files\ESET\Install\setup.exe" /test (with the quotes)
• Press enter on your keyboard.
• This will write a log to C:\Program Files\ESET\Install\nsetup.log
• Copy the contents of this log file here so we can look for errors.

Check the last file scanned when the scanner stalls (maybe it just loops forever on a particular file). The last log entry should commence with "ENTER" which means NOD32 created a handle for that file, but has not closed it yet."

I try this solution but the setup freeze always in the same window (the last after my preferences) and I can't find any log file in that folder.

Any ideas?

AVG Free edition, I haven't Symantec Norton AV, I only have Windows XPSP2 firewall and Norton Password Manager (not an AV)

But it's only in english and my XP is in italian, may I have problems! (I have Norton Password Manager, but it's not an AV, can this must cause a conflict?)

Yes, but italian version is 2.7, english version 3.0.621 ???

AFAIK , NOD32 v2 is incompatiable with any Norton application . Uninstall Norton Password Manager will most likely "fix" the issues

i see 2.7 is only one in italian
but eset have not release eav v3.0 in italian
please install eng version and then tell us

All right: I unistall AVG free, then Norton Password Manager, the the Norton Removal Tool and now I have a fresh trial of NOD32 2.7 ;)
I can't believe that Norton is so 'particular' also if it isn't an AV. Now I must learn the use; have you some suggest? The email scanner is already on?
