I use the Windows Vista Firewall (with outbound turned on), and as with 2.7 I have the ekrn service / app granted outbound permissions (to obtain automatic updates).

I see that the new version has another service called the ESET HTTP Server. Does this require outbound access to function correctly? I'm not seeing any issues like error messages, but I want to make sure this does not require internet access in and of itself.

Thanks!

Generally YES , it does . However , this service is needed only for business users who use Mirror function

Thanks for the reply. I'll grant it outbound just to play it safe. There's a fine line between secure and paranoid ;D
