hi all
if you are one of the thousands of people that have at some point tried Sky by broadband or Channel 4 on-demand or other similar services that make use of the Kontiki peer-to-peer (P2P) file distribution technology and have now found there internet connection adversely affected and you have been looking for a way to remove this insidious pest here are instructions and a tool to remove it from your system
be aware that any application that makes use of this will no longer work after its removal
http://www.skymovies.com/skybybroadband/articles/article04
Strictly speaking this isn't Malware HOWEVER !!!
There is no way of turning off the Peer To Peer sharing,
There's no control over what is shared, or how much bandwidth is used,
There's no control over what port is used and no way changing the port from 8080
Kontiki cannot be removed using the "Add/Remove Programs" on the Control Panel,
Kontiki isn't removed when you uninstall the application that it came with.
Which in my opinion is an entirely reprehensible and totally unacceptable way for a legitimate piece of software to behave
hope ya find it useful enjoy
