Just a little cry from the heart.
Please be aware that some people (and I am amongst them) have really bad eyes.
It makes them impossible to read some coloured text in your postings.

Along the same lines, there are some who need all-caps because of visual or other perception problems. I run into this much more often in seniors' groups or groups for neurological disorders than I do here, but it's quite possible here too.

Certainly question them about whether it's necessary -- but don't just take for granted they're "shouting" or otherwise ill-mannered.

My buddy Blaze for example has even more bad eyes than I have.
He often posts in caps: I fully understand him and I have no problem at all with that.

Well, I'm glad you mentioned it because sometimes I do change the colour of the fonts I use. :-\ It didn't occur to me that some people may have problems reading them until now.

Have you looked into the accessibility options that IE avails to you in displaying a web page the way you want to do it..rather than what it gives? I have set that up for other in the past.

Also, when in Internet Explorer, but you probably already know, that if you click on VIEW, then click on TEXT SIZE, you can use the largest size and it is quite large. Take care.

Jan, the board's software is limited to basic colours, and some work ok on "white" backgrounds, but become impossible to read on "pale blue" backgrounds. i forget too, that some colours can blend so well together that the coloured text becomes impossible to read (even for me). And with us baby-boomers fast approaching that age where wearing glasses become an every-day thing - it sure is appreciated when we don't have to squint through them to read text.

Too look through other's eyes, and to learn what colours not to use would help. Can you tell (show) us what text colours you can see without too much difficulty? If that is not imposing too much? i know pale colours like the pinks, yellows and greens on a blue background is not easy to read, and probably not on white backgrounds either. Maybe just the blues and reds if someone were to want to use a coloured text? :-\

As for cap button half the time it my one fingher i type with it get stuck lol

plus i have to constantly look at keybord

I have to admit that yesterday I let my frustration with my eye-problems carry me away.....
It was all suddenly too much.
It's so frustrating when you cannot get anything sharp.
(I can only hope that a surgery will improve things; but that could well take another half year or so.)
I know that other people have far more and greater problems !

I've tried a few things in the IE-settings (IE 5.5 sp2) but it doesn't change much to read postings at the board.

This is Ten-forward: please use here as always all the nice things (colors, etc.) !!! ;)

It was more in other parts of the forum (for example in logs etc.) that it is more a problem: there you need to read carefully what has been written. Some red text on a blue background for example is a problem; then there is not enough contrast. But Jooske gave also some tips for that.

i hate my eye problems to

im only 27 but i had this diseass in my eyes since i was born didnt even know it till 5 or 6 years algo

when you born with this you just assume you see like every one else

till something major happens really blows

You're quite welcome, Jan. :) While I don't have vision problems myself (yet, knock wood), because of my head injury I "hang out" at a number of online groups for that and related problems.

And my favorite games site is Pogo, where I usually stick to the over-50 rooms (I'm pushing 60). It's quite common to see someone there using caps in chat, and it's standard courtesy to ask them if they'd like the rest of us to use caps too, or if (and it does sometimes happen) their caps-lock is on by accident.
