I tried to reply to this thread, but was unable to do so due to its age.

Basically this is just a message to the support personnel. I only just found my old thread, I had checked it a few times without noticing anyone taking any interest. Unfortunately by the time someone had asked for more info I was dealing with other things.
Basically the answer to the question was that there were no error messages displayed. The machine just attempted a boot and immediately reset. It was as if there was no usable information on the drive other than the Vista Boot Manager. I don't remember much more than this, and I don't feel like fiddling with my friends machine to retest those painful issues! Hopefully you managed to find and fix this error.
