Hi.

I tried yesterady to create a new Partition using DiskDirector Suite 10. However, it seemed to work out, but once the system has rebooted there was no new partition.

Here is how I tried to get a new partition:

I started DD
After DD showed me my 2 Partitions C:\ 80GB and I:\240GB (that Partition has a red flag on it)
Then I chose create a new partition and I chose drive I:\
Then I followed the process til I had to say what size the partition should have. I said 120GB and in the next dialogue I chose a drive-letter; here it has to be R:\
DD went through I saw the new partition.
I finished DD by clicking the flag for finishing all actions. DD did even that and I clicked, as mentioned by DD the button to reboot the system.
The system rebooted DD tested the partitions and as it seemed without any errors, but unfortunately the new partition has not been created.

What am I doing wrong? Any hints, any ideas, any suggestions?

P.S.: Its not an evaluation version I am using.

Try doing the procedure by booting from the DD CD. Often it will work better that way than doing it in Windows when it needs to reboot to actually do the changes.

It's also recommended that you have a backup of any important files on any of the partitions to which you're making changes. If something goes wrong during the procedure, you don't want to lose anything. (A TI image of the disk beforehand is a good idea.)

Hi MudCrab,

ahhh...okay, so you mentioned I should boot from the DD CD, which I would do if I would have one.

I bought DD online and due to that I am not having a CD. Is there an easy way to make one?

Thanks for your help

If you did a full or custom installation, you have the Acronis Media Builder program installed. Use that to create the bootable CD.

The program should be in your Disk Director Start Menu folder:
195531

and is also in the Tools menu of DD.

If you're not using the latest build (2,160), then you should probably update before you create the CD.
