Lets compile a list of modifications for the Firefox browser with about:config to create more security and privacy.

This mod will cause your browser not to leave a referer address:

network.http.sendRefererHeader" with a value of "2". Change it to "0" (zero)

There are many extensions for that, allowing per site customization, whereas such changes are global - and might be dangerous if you mess up too much.
