Somewhere during trial will be enough. It needs a license to update. Trial or official

Thank you for the response.
My existing anti-virus will only expire in a year later.
There is a current promotion on KAV 7.0 & I don't want to miss it.
I am thinking whether it is possible to buy and activate only a year later (when my existing anti-virus has expired).

This thread over on the Kaspersky forums (http://forum.kaspersky.com/index.php?showtopic=52949&st=0) would suggest that you can do that.

The license will start as soon as it is activated.
If you buy a 3 license pack than license will start when first license is activated
