If you are using a current beta then 1.0 can be obtained through the integrated update feature. Once the download and install is complete SpyBot will close. Upon opening 1.0 will be present.Iif anyone has difficulty with the integrated update please unistall the beta and install 1.0 directly from the website download sources and then report details on the problem in the support forum http://www.net-integration.net/cgi-bin/forums/ikonboard.cgi

It appears the update is not uploaded in the appropriate place to do it through the integrated update feature yet. It appears I may have posted a little too quickly regarding that. Sorry :( But it will be soon as PepiMK is working on that and getting the mirrors squared away.

A couple of the mirrors don't have it up yet either. It may take a couple days for a couple of them. For now you can update by downloading from the university links on the download page and http://www.lurkhere.com/~nicefiles/ where it is correct.

Spybot-S&D 1.0 (sorry, I just have never used that 'glow' board function and wanted to try now ;D )

Hi everyone,

The integrated update is now available, too. The mirror list on my download page also shows which mirror has the 1.0 version already (most of them now). Just look at the '1.0' beside their names.

If anyone wants to know what has changed, here's a short info:

The first change you will see upon starting the new version is an improved user interface. The user can choose to get more information about the threats on the target list by simply clicking a button. Downloading updates from within the application will now work even if the user needs to use a proxy. The scan works in a separate thread now and can be aborted.

Of course there are a lot more small new features and bugfixes. The following is a compiled list of the most important changes. More can be found by visiting the support forum and reading the 0.96 beta reports.

The new version is available from the downloads page at http://patrick.kolla.de/spybotsd.html (nearly all mirrors have it ready now, see the 1.0 remarks) or using the integrated update for those who are using 0.95 or a later beta. Earlier users should decide to download the complete package.

- Most buttons replaced with Office 2k style toolbars
- Office/Outlook style toolbar for easier navigation
- Secure (File) Shredder (in Tools section)
- Settings combined in one big configuration tree
- Improved bot info section
- Basic skin options
- New help files
- Update supports proxy and displays progress
- Search presets in system internals fix dialog

Bugfixes:
- Improved handling of cookies and temporary internet files
- More protection against error messages
- Error messages now display in results list to be included in bug report
- RAS file problems fixed (RASAPI.DLL or similar not found)
- Problem with Ahead Nero usage tracks fixed
- Bug report settings loaded on program start
- Windowstate (for example Maximized) will be saved and restored correctly now
- Unavailable categories are now disabled during scan
- Already downloaded updates can't be selected again
- Fixed problems with selection/deselection context menu items
- If update fails, an error will be displayed now
- Opera cache directory detection improved
- Fixed integrated full update (program will be restarted after update)
- Fixed EAccessViolation bug at program end

I am very pleased with Spybot S&D! It has cleared all the spy crap off my system (put there by the manufacturer). AND, it is the first application that did not cause any problems on my fussy OS. It cured and cleansed! Thank you, PepiMK! :) :) :)
